Who runs this site
Scrub Campus, LLC operates the GUARD Method website at guardmethod.com. This policy covers information handled through this website.
Your learning and worksheets
Case notes, reasoning, selections, and placements stay in your browser’s memory. They are not sent to us. Reloading or leaving the page clears that session. Saving or printing creates an export on your device.
Worksheet drafts stay in your browser on this device, are never uploaded, and can be removed with Clear draft. If you choose to share a worksheet link, the link contains the worksheet you chose to share. Anyone you give it to can open it, so keep real patient information and other private details out of your worksheets.
Google Analytics does not run in the worksheet builder or the case and review pages. We do not send learning notes, worksheet text, or answers to Google Analytics.
Analytics
When enabled, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand how people use the public parts of GUARD. We measure page visits, whether a visitor reaches about 90% of a page, clicks to other websites such as Amazon, and clicks on public PDFs or other downloadable resources. These clicks show interest; they do not tell us whether someone bought a book or read a downloaded file. For visits identified as coming from the United States, analytics starts by default unless you opt out. Elsewhere, or if we cannot determine the location, analytics waits until you allow it. Manage preferences and Cookie settings let you turn it off. The site works either way.
When analytics is on, Google receives visit information such as the page address, a referring website’s origin, browser and device information, and a cookie identifier. Interaction events can also include the public link address and label, or a public file’s name and type. Your IP address is also received as part of the connection to Google. Our page-view code removes query strings and fragments from page addresses. Automatic link and download events may include query parameters in the public destination links on the site. We do not collect visitor contact details, message contents, learning answers, or worksheet contents through this integration.
Google also generates standard session and engagement events. Automatic site-search, form-interaction, video, and browser-history page-view measurement are turned off. It keeps advertising consent off, and disables Google signals and advertising personalization. Google Analytics cookies are set with a 30-day lifetime. We set Google’s user and event data retention to two months. Standard aggregated reports can be kept longer; declining later does not automatically erase past visits.
Google processes information on its infrastructure, which may be outside your country. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Cookies and browser preferences
The site remembers a display preference only when you choose one. Light or Dark is saved locally as guard-appearance; choosing System removes it. The Reduce motion setting uses guard-reduced-motion. These settings do not include your learning work.
Open Manage preferences on the bottom privacy notice to review the settings. You can choose Allow analytics, Decline, or set the analytics switch and Save choices. The Close button dismisses the notice for this browser session. It does not count as consent or change whether analytics is on. Closing preferences without saving keeps your existing choice.
Permission is saved in this browser for up to six months. An opt-out stays until you change it or clear browser storage. You can change it using Cookie settings in the footer or on this page. Declining removes this site’s Google Analytics cookies and stops future collection. A Global Privacy Control signal turns analytics off and saves an opt-out, even if you previously allowed analytics.
The older browser Do Not Track (DNT) setting does not change this site’s analytics settings. Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a different signal; we honor it by turning analytics off. You can also turn analytics off in Cookie settings.
Choices are separate for each site, browser, and device. If you clear browser storage, the site may ask again. Without JavaScript, Google Analytics stays off.
Hosting, links, and contact
Our server processes your IP address and page requests to display the site. It also estimates your country for the initial cookie settings. Routine access logging is turned off.
Book links open Amazon. Other external websites follow their own privacy policies.
If you contact us, we use your message and contact details to respond.
Questions and requests
For a privacy question or a request to access, correct, or delete information you have shared with us, use the contact page. The rights available to you depend on where you live. Browser-only notes and drafts are held on your device; we cannot retrieve them for you.
If our practices change, we will update this page and its review date. If we expand what optional analytics measures, we will explain the change and ask for a new choice before collecting the additional information.
